POSITION TITLE: Assembly Technician/Packer
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
REPORTING TO: Production Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
The Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling mechanical and electrical components and finished commercial foodservice equipment while meeting established quality and production standards. This position also prepares completed equipment for shipment and supports inventory, material handling, and continuous production activities in a safe manufacturing environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assemble mechanical and electrical subassemblies and complete final assembly by following work instructions, assembly drawings, and production documentation.
- Pick, stage, and replenish parts and materials for assembly and packaging operations.
- Inspect and stage large parts for full assembly lines.
- Maintain stocked assembly workstations to support production flow.
- Inspect assemblies to ensure quality standards are met and perform approved rework when required.
- Complete approved rework on nonconforming parts or assemblies.
- Package finished equipment for shipment using mechanical lifting devices, strapping equipment, and
other packaging materials.
- Perform cycle counts and inventory transactions as assigned.
- Safely operate material handling equipment and production tools.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to assemble products using hand and power tools.
- Experience using measuring devices such as gauges and calipers.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions and assembly documentation.
Preferred
- Previous mechanical or electrical assembly experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience assembling industrial or commercial equipment.
- Familiarity with basic electrical testing equipment and manufacturing or ERP systems.
- Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification.
REQUIRED ABILITIES
- Read and interpret work instructions, assembly drawings, and production documentation.
- Identify quality issues and communicate concerns promptly.
- Operate hand tools, measuring devices, pallet jacks, lift cranes, hand scanners, computers, shrinkwrap, and strapping equipment safely and effectively.
- Manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and production standards.
- Work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds; move heavier items with assistance or approved lifting
equipment.
- Stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
- Lift and position materials above shoulder height and at floor level.
- Safely operate mechanical hoists and other material handling equipment.
- Possess the manual dexterity required to assemble mechanical and electrical components.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Manufacturing and warehouse environment with exposure to machinery, noise, dust, temperature variations, and material handling equipment.
- Required use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated work areas.
