POSITION TITLE: Warehouse and Logistics Coordinator

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Warehouse and Logistics Coordinator will support our manufacturing, import, and distribution operations within the machinery and equipment industry. This role is responsible for monitoring domestic and international transportation, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving cost-effective logistics solutions. This position plays a key role in optimizing freightoperations, maintaining critical logistics systems, and collaborating cross-functionally to support business objectives. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor domestic and international shipments across all transportation modes.
  • Schedule and manage international air and LCL ocean freight.
  • Schedule and oversee ocean container deliveries, returns, and detention timelines.
  • Maintain HTS and NMFC classifications for compliance and accuracy.
  • Maintain and optimize Shipping Manifest Systems (SMS) in partnership with IT and warehouse teams.
  • Monitor carrier performance, service levels, and transportation costs.
  • Identify and communicate supply chain risks and disruptions.
  • Develop and maintain logistics SOPs and process documentation.
  • Audit and approve freight invoices, ensuring accuracy of rates and charges.
  • Manage Over, Short, and Damaged (OSD) freight claims.
  • Support customer service with complex shipments, expedited requests, and dispute resolution.
  • Analyze shipping data to recommend cost-saving and efficiency improvements.
  • Coordinate logistics for trade shows and special projects.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma required, degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related  field preferred.
  • 5+  years of experience in transportation and logistics (domestic and international).
  • Experience with FCL, LCL, FTL, LTL, parcel, and 3PL providers.
  • Strong understanding of import/export regulations, Incoterms, and trade compliance.
  • Experience in manufacturing or equipment distribution environments preferred.
  • Proficiency with ERP, WMS, and TMS/SMS systems.
  • Advanced  Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Experience  with Starship, V-Technologies, Ship Gear, or similar TMS platforms  preferred.
  • Familiarity  with ACE and CARM reporting preferred.
  • Experience  working with customs brokers and freight forwarders preferred.
  • Understanding  of packaging, palletization, and load optimization preferred.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Hybrid  office and warehouse environment with regular interaction on the warehouse floor.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and moving equipment.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and perform detailed computer work.
  • Experience in operating a forklift and ability to obtain current license is required.
